Training seminars and workshops are being used as a tool to develop the understanding of Red Cross and Red Crescent logisticians in the resource mobilization procedures, processes and tools. Training is not an end in itself but a means to improve effectiveness and efficiency of the Federation's logistics support to operations and to develop the logistics capacity of National Societies (NS).
The Federation's Logistics Workshops focus on practical application of the logistics and resource mobilization procedures, processes and tools. Workshops are tailor-made to suit needs and interests of any audience group within the Red Cross and Red Crescent environment, either volunteer or staff, NS or country cluster/office.
IFRC also collaborates with partners such as ICRC and the Logistics Cluster to provide access to external logistics trainings.

All IFRC Logistics Trainings follow this framework, which sets out three competency tiers: Tier 1 – Operational (day-to-day effectiveness within a team, typically Officer level), Tier 2 – Tactical (advising and guiding within a team, typically Manager level), and Tier 3 – Strategic (defining strategic-level responses across all logistics sectors, typically Coordinator level).
