SCM · Logistics Trainings

Building logistics skills for faster, smarter response.

Training seminars and workshops help Red Cross and Red Crescent logisticians deepen their understanding of logistics procedures, processes and tools – so assistance can reach people in need more efficiently.

Training is not an end in itself, but a means to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the International Federation’s logistics support to operations and to strengthen the logistics capacity of National Societies.

Logistics trainings combine practical exercises with real IFRC procedures, processes and tools. Workshops are tailored for different audiences across the Red Cross and Red Crescent network.

Who are the trainings for?

Logistics trainings are designed for:

  • National Society logisticians and programme staff
  • IFRC country, cluster and regional office personnel
  • Specialists in procurement, fleet, warehousing and emergency operations
  • New staff requiring an introduction to IFRC logistics procedures

How are trainings delivered?

  • Face-to-face workshops hosted by regions or National Societies
  • Blended or online modules focusing on specific logistics topics
  • Tailor-made workshops adapted to country or regional contexts
  • Collaboration with partners such as the ICRC and the Logistics Cluster, including participation in external trainings where relevant
